Paranormal Activity in Seville

Scary stuff!

I was recently invited to come along on a paranormal tour of Seville. Being a self confessed scaredy cat– I was at first apprehensive but curiosity got the better of me and I am so glad it did! We met at the Plaza Nueva and were introduced to our guide. His name is Jose Manuel Garcia Bautista and we discovered that he is a celeb of sorts in Seville. The stories recounted to us were thrilling, scary, intriguing and above all else very historical informative. From the very start we discovered that the Plaza Nueva used to be a huge monastery and many of the monks are buried under the grounds in that area. As we learned throughout the tour–where bones are buried and ever moved…strange things may happen!

Jose Manuel is passionate about his work has a way of telling a great story that keeps you engaged and listening all the time. We walked and explored for two hours. He used digital equipment including EVP (electronic voice recording device) recordings that he has taken himself in a few buildings in the city. We were shown shops, homes, restaurants, clubs, a theatre, a university building  – all with documented paranormal histories and backgrounds. Mysterious to be sure! A few of these are now abandoned due to the paranormal experiences of the residents.

It was informative fun and just the right amount of spooky.

I am always open to learning new places and history and this evening walking tours fits the bill. We strolled from from Plaza Nueva ( City Hall building) through to Plaza de la Encarnacion– it was well worth the ticket price of 10 euro.
